Opening Reception: Friday, November 6, 2026 | 5–8 p.m.

Studios Inc is excited to announce “Threads,” a solo exhibition by Hong Chun Zhang. Studios Inc will host an opening reception from 5- 8 p.m. on Friday, November 6th, and the exhibition will remain on view through December 12th. An artist talk and book launch with Kansas Poet Laureate Emerita Wyatt Townley will take place Saturday, November 7th, at 11:30 pm.

In her statement, Hong writes, "Threads" not only refers to the fabric medium I use, but to weaving my aesthetic with the world at large. The inspiration came from a 1984 British Australian movie called "Threads," which explores the dramatic social and environmental consequences of nuclear war in England.

All six large pieces in the solo show, including my latest collaboration "Making the Turn" with Wyatt Townley, reflect the evolution of my work over the last five years at Studios Inc. “Threads” connects themes from personal to universal, private to public, social to environmental.”
